Alert Iowa

A communication tool used by counties to communicate information on inclement weather, emergencies, and matters of public safety to you in a timely manner.  When emergencies happen, be the first to know. Your County will use Alert Iowa to send official, real-time alerts to the public with information about potentially life-saving actions they may need to take to keep themselves and their families safe.

By signing up for Alert Iowa you are taking a large step toward improving your personal safety.  Choose how to receive information - app, voice, text, email.  You can choose to select messages in multiple languages.  Alert Iowa includes an access and functional needs registry.

You can sign up for Alert Iowa through text opt-in, through an online opt-in page, or by downloading the Smart911 App.  Availability may vary by county.

 

Sex Offender Alerts

The Iowa Department of Public Safety provides email, phone, and text notifications about sex offenders in your community.

Watch notifications are sent within 60 minutes of a change to a registrant's information. If you decide you no longer wish to receive notifications, you may sign in and delete your account. If you want to temporarily disable notifications you may do so by visiting the "My Account" tab after you sign in.

 

Traffic Alerts and Driving Conditions

511 is an easy-to-remember national traveler information telephone number, website, and mobile application.   511 provides real-time updates about weather-related road conditions, construction, commercial vehicle restrictions, road closures and other events that impact traffic and travel.
