Planning a camping trip, family vacation, wedding, or reunion? Iowa state parks and forests offer several facility options to meet your needs.
Iowa offers 157 open-air shelters, 29 lodges, and more than 90 year-round cabins, rustic camping cabins, and yurts. You can also find more than 4,400 overnight campsites. Campsites range from hike-in primitive sites to full RV hook-ups (sewer, water, and electricity). You can reserve most of these campsites up to 3 months in advance. Walk-in camping is also available on a first come, first serve basis, with few exceptions.

3. Lodges and Shelters: Lodges usually include electricity, water, restrooms, and a kitchen. Many are historic. Or enjoy an open-air shelter for a day-use family gathering. 4. Campsites: Enjoy an overnight stay in a tent or RV. Reserve most campsites online up to 3 months in advance. Iowa also offers limited walk-in availability on a first come, first serve basis. Facilities vary from park-to-park. Most campsites have picnic tables and fire rings. Many campgrounds offer full-hookup amenities for RVs.
