Red Cross offers financial assistance

 The American Red Cross has financial assistance available for people whose primary home was destroyed or is unlivable due to the recent storms and tornadoes. If you have questions about American Red Cross financial assistance or other services call 1-800-RED CROSS (800-733-2767).

511 - Traveler Information

Provides statewide up-to-date traffic information for interstates, U.S. routes, and state highways. Iowans can now see county road closures on the  511 map by clicking on the “County Closure” layer.  Currently, 79 counties report their closures.

Floods and Water Well Information

Contaminated well water can make you sick. Never consume water from a well if there is any chance the well has been impacted by flood waters. You need to test your well water to determine if it is safe. More information from Iowa Dept. of Natural Resources.

Call before digging: The Iowa Utilities Board (IUB) reminds anyone whose rebuilding efforts involve digging to call 811 or visit the Iowa One Call website for information on scheduling a utility locate before beginning a project.
